When an individual or a family's "gap" payments exceed a certain threshold amount in a calendar year, 100% of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) fee for out-of-hospital services is reimbursed through Medicare. WebFrom 1 January 2024, the PBS Safety Net threshold for patients with a concession card will be $262.80 and for other eligible patients it will be $1,563.50. The same general or concessional Safety Net threshold is applied to a family unit regardless of whether the unit consists of an individual, a couple or a family with dependent children.
