WebWhen you go into your default router settings the way you get into them is by typing in 192.168.1.1, that is the default, and because it's the default companies like Optimum take advantage of it by making that default automatically route to their sites. However that isn't the only address you can use. WebWhen I used to have the Optimum - provided Netgear router they had changed the firmware so you couldn't access the original settings. It would take you to a Optimum page. I wanted to change my DNS settings to point to OpenDNS and I had to file a ticket, which they screwed up. I ended up getting my own equipment and that was it.
